The Thomas Hughes Memorial Hall (THMH) is located in the scenic and historical village of Uffington. The Hall is managed by the Management Committee, which is made up of volunteers for the benefit of the local community. The Hall was initially built by the proceeds of the White Horse Show, which was established specifically for this purpose and, the White Horse Show Trust continues to support the Hall.
Our 2 function rooms are both located on ground level, with wheelchair access and an accessible toilet. The function rooms can be hired separately or combined for a large event. They both have independent heating systems.
The Hall calendar can be viewed through the Bookings tab above. From the calendar users can see the current bookings and make a booking. On receipt of a new request our Booking Manager will make contact to confirm the arrangement. Our bookings page and has information about hiring arrangements, Risk Assessments and Conditions of Hire.
The Large Hall. The Large Hall (17m x 10m) can seat 175 in theatre format. It has a comprehensive Audio Visual system with a 4 metre screen and a loop system. Chairs and tables are available for user of the Hall. The room has a permanent stage and users of this Hall can request use of the stage at the time of booking.
The Small Hall. The Small Hall (8m x 8m) can seat 75 persons in theatre format. It has an Audio Visual system, including a loop system and is ideal for meetings, presentations and smaller parties. Chairs and tables are available for users of the Hall.
Kitchen. There is a single kitchen which is shared between the users of both Halls. If sole use of the kitchen is required and you have not booked both Halls this should be discussed with the Management at the time of booking. The kitchen includes a range cooker, refrigerators, commercial dishwasher, wall mounted water boiler and a food warming unit. Some crockery/cutlery /glasses are available but your requirement for these should be checked at time of booking.
High Speed Fibre Broadband is provided throughout the building.
Car Parking. The large car park adjacent to the THMH can accommodate 70 cars if, carefully stewarded. Whilst the car park is part of the THMH facility, hire of the Halls does not guarantee that the whole car park will be available for use.
As a service to the village, and with prior agreement, we may permit overnight parking. Please email tmhmh.information@uffington.net.
